چکیده
Specific heat capacity of extremely confined water determines its performance in the transfer as sizes devices decrease to nanoscales. Here, we report basic data specific narrow graphene nanochannels below 5 nm height using molecular dynamics simulations. The results show that is size-dependent, and commensurability effect presents confinement decreases 1.7 nm. deviation with bulk attributed variation configuration features, including density distribution hydrogen bonds, vibration velocity auto-correlation function vibrational states. This work unveils effects their physical mechanisms nanoconfined water, provided here have wide prospects for energy applications at

Strain engineering water transport in graphene nanochannels.
Using equilibrium and nonequilibrium molecular dynamic simulations, we found that engineering the strain on the graphene planes forming a channel can drastically change the interfacial friction of water transport through it. There is a sixfold change of interfacial friction stress when the strain changes from -10% to 10%. Stretching the graphene walls increases the interfacial shear stress, whi...
متن کاملProton transfer in liquid water confined inside graphene slabs.
The microscopic structure and dynamics of an excess proton in water constrained in narrow graphene slabs between 0.7 and 3.1 nm wide has been studied by means of a series of molecular dynamics simulations. Interaction of water and carbon with the proton species was modeled using a multistate empirical valence bond Hamiltonian model. The analysis of the effects of confinement on proton solvation...
متن کاملThe polymer physics of single DNA confined in nanochannels.
In recent years, applications and experimental studies of DNA in nanochannels have stimulated the investigation of the polymer physics of DNA in confinement. Recent advances in the physics of confined polymers, using DNA as a model polymer, have moved beyond the classic Odijk theory for the strong confinement, and the classic blob theory for the weak confinement. In this review, we present the ...
متن کاملScaling theory of DNA confined in nanochannels and nanoslits.
A scaling analysis is presented of the statistics of long DNA confined in nanochannels and nanoslits. It is argued that there are several regimes in between the de Gennes and Odijk limits introduced long ago. The DNA chain folds back on itself giving rise to a global persistence length that may be very large owing to entropic deflection. Moreover, there is an orientational excluded-volume effec...
متن کاملSlip divergence of water flow in graphene nanochannels: the role of chirality.
Graphene has attracted considerable attention due to its characteristics as a 2D material and its fascinating properties, providing a potential building block for nanofabrication. In nanochannels the solid-liquid interface plays a non-negligible role in determining the fluid dynamics. Therefore, for an optimal design of nanofluidic devices, a comprehensive understanding of the slippage in a wat...
